The artist standing before a tall unfinished plaster panel in a dim studio

He does not talk about the work. He turns the camera on and starts.

Fifteen years of panels, filmed in the same room, under the same single lamp.

The artist

A painter who kept the camera running

Ariesson works alone, in daylight when there is any and under one warm lamp when there isn't. He grinds his own pigment, mixes plaster by weight, and builds each panel over weeks rather than days.

The films started as a way to remember what he had done. They stayed because people kept asking to see the part nobody usually shows — the mistake, the scrape-back, the hour where nothing works.
